Brittany Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack, says his wife was “not that ill” whe she died on Dec. 20 in the Hollywood Hills home they shared with her mother, Sharon. Monjack told PEOPLE he was “ridiculously upset” on Thursday – the day the L.A. coroner released findings saying Murphy died primarily from pneumonia, with multiple drug intoxication and “iron deficiency anemia” as contributing to her accidental death. Brittany Murphy was laid to rest on Christmas Eve, with only a small group of her family and friends attending the funeral service in Los Angeles. Brittany Murphy Dies

Actress Brittany Murphy died early today after going into cardiac arrest, law enforcement sources said. Los Angeles city firefighters responded to “a medical request” at Murphy’s home in the 1800 block of Rising Glen Road in West Hollywood – Latimes reports. Murphy, 32, was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Murphy starred in films including “Clueless,” “8 Mile” and “Don’t Say a Word.” » Read more
