Jennifer Hudson’s Super Bowl Performance (VIDEO)

For the first time after her family tragedy last October, Jennifer Hudson returned to the spotlight. The 27-year-old singer and actress delivered a stirring performance of the national anthem at Sunday night’s Super Bowl XLIII in Tampa. “This was such an important performance, because it’s the first time everyone has seen Jennifer. But she’s in such a great place, with such great spirits and time can heal her wounds. She’s on fire right now and totally grounded.”, said pre-game show producer Rickey Minor.

“She’s from the church, so we wanted to give it a gospel feel, use a little organ, rhythm and really give it a feel that matched Jennifer. We wanted her to emote the lyrics and connect with the song.”, he added.
Hudson, who hasn’t yet spoken about her family’s triple murder, is also slated to sing at the MusiCares Person of the Year Gala on Feb. 6 and the Grammy Awards on Feb. 8, both in Los Angeles.
