Jennifer Hudson’s Mother, Brother killed in Chicago

Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother were fatally shot on the South Side of Chicago today. Authorities report two bodies were found at 70th Street and Yale Avenue on Friday, 3pm. Police issued an Amber Alert for a missing 7-year-old child, a nephew of Hudson’s.

57-year-old Darnell Hudson Donerson, mother of Jennifer Hudson, was not the only adult found fatally shot at home, as the other victim was recognised as Jason, her brother.

Police are searching for a man and 7-year-old boy. The missing boy, identified as Julian King – Donerson’s grandson may have been abducted by William Balfour, a suspect in the murder who is considered armed and dangerous, according to police. He may be driving a white Chevy Suburban SUV with Illinois license plate X584859 or a teal/green Chrysler Concord four-door sedan with a left front headlight hanging off and scratches along the left side with temporary tags 332K823.

Jennifer Hudson won a Best Actress Oscar in 2006 for her portrayal of Effie in the film version of the Broadway musical “Dreamgirls.” She competed on the third season of “American Idol” in 2004, making it to the top seven contestants before being eliminated from the contest.
