We are sad to report that world known actor Patrick Swayze, 56, was hospitalized today for pneumonia and is currently under observation. News was announced on Friday at a press conference for the Television Critics Association in Los Angeles.

“As we arrived here this morning we have some news,” said A&E president Abbe Raven. “Patrick Swayze has checked himself into the hospital. However, he asked us specifically to go forward with today’s panel. We wish him the very best with his recovery.”

Patrick had been scheduled to discuss his new show, “The Beast,” which begins airing Monday. In the last couple of days he has been making the press rounds for his new television show The Beast, which premieres on January 15.
